Jim Barnard:

Jim Barnard: Jim (James M.) Barnard, a native Clevelander, entered the Ohio Veterans Home in October 2002. He became employed by the Home’s Museum in 2005 as Archivist. His responsibilities included the cataloging of the museum’s artifacts and donations. He was named Curator in 2009. As Curator, he oversees the daily operations of the museum. Before entering the Home, Mr. Barnard was employed as a mortgage banker for twenty-five years. He is co-founder of the Ohio Veterans Home ’s annual Civil War Encampment which is held on the grounds of the Home. He is a member of the Erie County Committee on the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Mr. Barnard, as a committee member, has written articles for the Sandusky Register on Civil War history. His most recent was titled “Christmas in the Civil War.”
